Getting Started with MaiTai

Set up your professional profile and connect it to AI assistants in minutes. This guide will help you get started quickly and make the most of MaiTai's features.

What You'll Need

  • Your resume (link to pdf, website, JSONResume, or plaintext)
  • LinkedIn profile URL (optional)
  • GitHub profile URL (optional)
  • Personal website URL (optional but recommended)
  • Claude, Cursor, or another MCP-compatible client

Step 1: Create Your Account

  1. Navigate to the sign-up page
  2. Create an account using Google, GitHub, or email
  3. Verify your email address if required

Step 2: Create Your Profile

  1. Upload your resume
  2. Add your LinkedIn, GitHub, and personal website URLs
  3. Review the extracted information
  4. Make any necessary edits or additions
  5. Save your profile

Tip: The more information you provide, the better AI assistants will understand your professional background.

Step 3: Get Your MCP Server URL

  1. Navigate to your dashboard
  2. Look for the "MCP Server URL" section
  3. Copy your unique MCP server SSE URL

Important: You must select "SSE" as the transport type when connecting to your MCP server. The default transport type will not work with our service.

Step 4: Connect to Your Client

Connect your MCP server URL to your preferred client. We have detailed guides for the following clients:

Testing Your Connection: Use the MCP Inspector tool to verify your MCP server is configured correctly and accessible.

Step 5: Start Using Your Profile

Once connected, your assistant will have access to your professional background. You can start asking questions like:

  • "Help me improve my resume for a senior developer role"
  • "Practice interview questions for my background in marketing"
  • "What skills should I develop based on my experience?"
  • "Draft a cover letter for this job posting that highlights my relevant experience"
