What is MCP?

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It's a standard protocol that allows AI assistants to access context and tools from external servers. Your MaiTai profile creates an MCP server that provides AI assistants with access to your professional background.

What assistants are compatible?

Currently, MaiTai works with:

  • Claude for Desktop
  • Windsurf IDE
  • Zed Editor
  • Any MCP-compatible client

How secure is my data?

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. You control which assistants have access to your profile through the MCP server URL. Only authenticated requests from your approved assistants can access your information.

Account & Profile

Can I update my profile after creation?

Yes, you can update your profile at any time from your dashboard. Changes take effect immediately for all connected assistants.

What formats are supported for resumes?

We support:

  • PDF files
  • Word documents (.doc, .docx)
  • Plain text files
  • Web URLs (for online resumes)
  • JSONResume format

Can I have multiple profiles?

Currently, each account supports one professional profile. We're considering multi-profile support for future releases.

Connection Issues

My assistant can't connect to the MCP server

  1. Make sure you're using the SSE transport type
  2. Verify your MCP server URL is correct
  3. Check that your profile is active
  4. Use the MCP Inspector tool to test connectivity

The connection keeps dropping

This is usually due to network issues. Ensure you have a stable internet connection. Some corporate firewalls may block SSE connections.

Can I limit what information is shared?

Currently, the entire profile is shared with connected assistants. We're working on granular permissions for future releases.

Profile data is available to assistants in real-time. Any updates you make are immediately reflected in assistant interactions.

Is there a free tier?

Yes, we offer a free tier with basic features. Premium plans include additional features like analytics and priority support.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time. Your profile remains accessible until the end of your billing period.

Technical Questions

What is the SSE transport?

SSE (Server-Sent Events) is a technology that allows servers to push updates to clients in real-time. It's required for MCP connections to work properly.

Can I self-host the MCP server?

The MCP server is currently only available as a hosted service. Self-hosting options may be available in the future.
